WELCOME MESSAGE
The tulips have blossomed.
Irises are at their peak. Roses are still waiting for the heat of long summer days. Gardeners have been hard at work for months, knowing exactly which agent to use, and when, in order to prevent the beauty of their gardens from being choked by noxious weeds.
Paul was quick to inform everyone to whom he ministered about the vast difference between the ugliness of the flesh and the beauty of the Spirit. Over these short summer months we’ll be looking at
Galatians 5, learning to spot the weeds that creep into the garden of our Christian lives. We’ll discover how to get rid of those weeds and keep our lives as beautiful as God intended.
Beginning Sunday, June 22, Summer Messages will focus on removing the noxious weeds from our lives. Don’t miss the blessing. Services are held on Sundays at both 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., with Bible Study/Sunday School during both hours.
Looking toward the fall, you’ll want to make plans to attend the Christian Life Conference scheduled for the weekend of October 3, 2008. Conference speakers will include Terry and Kelleen Little of
Crossover Church in Spokane, Washington. The Littles have served Crossover Church as founding pastor and wife for the past 12 years. They have a heart for the Lord and for people.
Details will continue to be posted to the Capital Baptist Church website as they become available throughout the summer. We look forward to meeting you soon at one of our weekend services.
Yours in service to the Kingdom of God,
Pastor John
